JOIN US TO CROWN OUR CHAMPIONS AND THANK THOSE WHO GAVE US THE FREEDOM TO ENJOY THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Four years ago we hosted the first National High School Fishing Championship on Sam Rayburn Lake. The event attracted student anglers from Texas and surrounding States to Deep East Texas and helped to launch us as the number one high school fishing lake in America.
Last year we renamed the tournament to honor our Texas Fallen in the war on terror and this year we are proud to announce The 2017 Texas Fallen Heroes Youth Fishing Championship will take place on June 2-4th. This year we are joined by The Texas Fallen Heroes Memorial, The Marine Corps League of Texas and American Legion Posts 113 Lufkin and 197 Hemphill, Texas.
As local community leaders and early supporters of youth fishing we believe in the power of this simple family oriented activity to teach the finest values to our children and pass on to them the appreciation of our precious natural resources, spending time with family and friends and to remember to thank those who were willing to sacrifice everything to give us the freedom and liberty that we freely enjoy.
We are very excited to announce our 2017 Texas Fallen Heroes Youth Fishing Championship. The event will be an American Red, White and Blue celebration and remembrance with each participant being presented a set of dog tags from our Texas Fallen Heroes Memorial Wall that will be on display for the entire weekend. Families of our fallen heroes will be notified that their loved one will be remembered by name and honored on this very special weekend. All food and concessions will donate their profit to the local Veteran's charities.
